We are seeking candidates for the Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre (PQCHC) volunteer Board of Directors. The information below provides an overview of the role and more information.

WHAT WE DO

Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre is an innovative community based, multiservice centre. We strive to meet the needs of the diverse communities we serve. We work in partnership with individuals, families and communities to achieve their full potential, paying particular attention to those facing barriers to access, including those who are most vulnerable and at risk. 

We provide more than 60 health and social services to people who live in our community. We serve around 45,000 clients each year. Our more than 80 partnerships extend our services to make sure we can connect residents to the supports they need.

WHAT IS INVOLVED

As a policy/governance Board, members are expected to be informed on organizational matters and participate in the Board’s deliberations and decisions in matters of policy development, finance, risk mitigation and community advocacy. Board members serve in a volunteer capacity without remuneration. 

  

Board Meeting Location and Time: Board meetings are scheduled on the third Tuesday of each month 5:30 to 7:30pm and are held both in person and via zoom as appropriate. 

  

Term: 2 year – September 2024 until September 2026 with potential for additional terms. This position is covered by Director’s Liability Insurance. You can review the By-laws here

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

We invite anyone who lives or works in our community to apply as a volunteer to our Board!

You are eligible to apply if you:
  • support our mission;
  • are 18 years of age or older; 
  • can commit to monthly meetings, advocacy, and occasional activities.

We encourage applications from: 
  • the Francophone community; 
  • members of Indigenous communities;
  • 2SLGBTQIA+ communities;
  • persons with disabilities.

We are seeking individuals to join our Board of Directors who are passionate and dedicated and possess varied skillset to enhance our organization who: 
  • live or work in communities served by PQ;
  • have knowledge of the healthcare system;
  • have diverse lived experiences.
 
In addition to commitment to our vision, mission, and values, we are looking for candidates with: 
  • legal skills/experience, preferably in the non-profit sector; 
  • governance and equity experience as a Board member in the not-for-profit sector; 
  • health Care System Transformation experience; 
  • experience in government relations, public affairs, or advocacy.
