Youth Entrepreneurship Networking Group of Ottawa (YENGO)
Established in 2014, the network was founded by 5 dynamic partner organizations:
- The Natural Step
- The Bethany Hope Centre
- Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre
- Operation Come Home
- Invest Ottawa as a proud supporting partner
In 2015 YENGO received funding through the Ministry of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure to strengthen, formalize and expand the network in order to improve entrepreneurship opportunities for aspiring youth entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs in Ottawa. Partners are committed to sharing valuable knowledge and resources, improving referral processes for young entrepreneurs and having a strategic approach to working with the private/entrepreneur sector. Partnering agencies aim to address a significant need in the community through collaborating and connecting organizations that serve emerging young entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs.
YENGO’s mission is to address the significant demand from youth who are passionate about these issues, eager to take action, and are seeking the training, support, mentorship, and access to seed funding to turn their entrepreneurial dreams into reality. YENGO intends to share valuable knowledge and resources, connect mentors to mentees and improve referral processes between agencies for participants and other youth in the community.
YENGO recognizes the importance for cross collaboration in order to better meet the needs of young entrepreneurs in Ottawa. YENGO’s overarching mission and ability to create a “one stop shop” for youth and service providers hinges on meaningful collaborations within the community. Similar to a ripple effect created by a rock thrown into water, YENGO’s potential is great and far reaching.
YENGO is seeking partnerships and collaboration between for profit and not for profit agencies whose vision and mission support the advancement of youth and entrepreneurship.
For information on next steps or ideas for collaboration please send an email to email@example.com.
We look forward to hearing from you and working together to improve entrepreneurship opportunities for youth through a collaborative impact approach.
The Youth Entrepreneurship Networking Group of Ottawa (YENGO) is funded by the Government of Canada through the Ministry of Economic Development, Employment & Infrastructure and administered by the Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre on behalf of all partner agencies.
