The Lunghealth program supports patients living in the Ottawa area who have asthma or chronic obtrusive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Patients are referred to the Registered Respiratory Therapist/Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) by their Health Care Providers for diagnostic testing (Spirometry) and self management education for their asthma and COPD. Individuals from the community may see a CRE for self-management education at the Rosemount Branch of the Somerset-West Community Health Centre must have a confirmed diagnosis of asthma or COPD via spirometry. The Lunghealth Program also offers a Community Based Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program (PR) located at 30 Rosemount Avenue. Patients can be referred by their primary care providers. Patients referred to the program are asked to bring any respiratory medications and devices.
Appointments at Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre are available on Mondays between 9:00am and 4:30pm.
