Youth Retail Employment Program (YREP)

YREP is a paid employment program offered to youth aged 15-30 who are out of school and facing barriers to employment.  This 22-week-long program is an opportunity to develop skills and experience working the retail industry.  The program consists of a 20-week work placement at a store at Bayshore or Carlingwood Shopping Centre and 120 hours of training.  The participants work 27 hours per week and earn minimum wage while on placement and in training sessions.  This program is funded by the Government of Canada.  For more information on either of these programs, please contact  613-820-4922 ext. 588. 

Youth Retail Work Experience (YRWE)

YREE is a 10-week experience for youth aged 15-19 who are still in school.  Participants volunteer 6 hours per week for eight weeks and receive 20 hours of employment-related training.  This program is funded by the United Way.  For more information on this program, please contact 613-820-4922.

EXPERICA - the Practice Firm
An employment program in our community that offers job seekers the opportunity to participate and gain real work experience in a replication of a small business. "Learning by Doing" is the approach where maximum participation in the program is 12 weeks.

  • Information Technology: LAN Technicians, Software Developers, Web Developers

Qualified candidates must be ready to commit to a 35 hour, unpaid weekly schedule with a primary objective of returning to paid employment in their field as soon as possible.
