Pinecrest-Queensway is home to an efficient, results-oriented Employment Services division. Employment Services works with Ottawa job seekers, employers and government programs alike to bring the right people together with the resources they need to find success.
Youth Retail Programming
The goal of this free program is to provide students in Ottawa’s west end aged 15 to 19 with a volunteer experience in the retail industry, so they can acquire the skills and experience necessary to finding part-time employment in the future. Each year, the YREE places 16 youth from the PQCHC catchment area in work placements in retail stores in the west end of Ottawa.
PQCHC offers Ottawa youth an opportunity to acquire necessary experience in retail through a paid 20 week work experience program. The Youth Retail Employment Program (YREP) partners with Bayshore and Carlingwood Shopping Centres and other west end retailers.
PQCHC offers youth living in Ottawa’s rural south end an opportunity to acquire necessary experience in retail through a paid 23 week work experience program. The Rideau-Osgoode Youth Retail Employment Program (ROYREP) partners with local retailers to help youth (15 to 30 years of age) overcome barriers to joining the workforce.
The Millennium Learning Centre (MLC) at Pinecrest-Queensway is one of twenty small community-based computer access centres across the City of Ottawa where people can learn to use computers and the Internet at their own pace and in a supportive environment.
Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre supports employment equity & diversity principles. Available positions are posted on this website, on employment websites, in relevant local newspapers, other community health and resource centres.
