Community Development
Program
The Community Development Program works with local groups and
individuals to find out what needs or problems exist in the
community and to develop creative solutions. The program aims to
help community groups develop new programs or expand existing
services.
Community House
Coordination
In close collaboration and partnership with the tenant
associations in four low-income housing neighbourhoods,
Pinecrest-Queensway staff oversee the functions of the community
houses. These Community House Coordinators develop and facilitate
various programs and activities throughout the year and conduct
outreach to support the local residents.
Multicultural Outreach Program
This program provides support and assistance to help newcomers adjust to life in Canada. Linking individuals to services
and support group programs are part
of this outreach service.
South Nepean Community Health Centre
South Nepean Satellite Community Health Centre is a satellite of
Pinecrest Queensway Community Health Centre (CHC).
We offer primary care and health promotion services to the
community, with a focus on the social determinants of health.
The CHC includes a multi-disciplinary team of physicians, nurse
practitioners, registered nurses, community health workers and
medical receptionists.
The Centre is located at 4100 Strandherd Drive.
The Centre’s health promotion team will work with community
residents and partner agencies to identify gaps and needs in
services related to the social determinants of health, and will
develop programs to respond to these needs.
